Today we are going on a tour of the Lexington battleship. We have driven close to it and have counted 12 or more airplanes on it on the top deck. There will be lots of climbing of ladder stairs. Peggy has a very sore knee so she may not be able to climb many of them. She may have to have surgery in Tulsa after seeing her specialist On the 20 of Dec. We will be meeting my Mom at the airport she will be with us for Christmas, we will bring her back to Corpus Christi for a visit till mid January.
I am missing my kids so very much, The outing today will help to cheer me up I hope. We will be having Christmas with Peggy`s kids on the 23 and travel back to Corpus on 25.

We are back from the Lexington had a wonderful day. We climbed steep ladder type stairs and toured this large ship. Very interestings , it made me feel very sentimental. The bunks the sailors slept are like boxes upon boxes in long rows, no privacy at all. It had a up to date hospital, with modern equipment to operate and fix the wounded , dentist chairs they did root canals, etc. and barber shops.
This ship is now a museum. And is anchoured on the bottom of the bay , so it does not float or move. It took us 3 hours to tour it and did not see all of it., 3/4 hour film of what the ship did in war time and what the planes lifting off the ship did. It makes you so proud of the people that gave their lives to make North America safe from the enemy.
Well my knees and leg muscles are sore this evening. I will need to get into the hot tub to sooth my aching muscles.

This Man Of War was about 6 inches long. some of them grow larger.
The parks people say they have never seen so many, on the beaches here. They come to the beaches to breed.

We are going over to the club house for pot luck they are serving brisket, if they cook it like my sister does it should be delicious.

this picture is of a Portuguese Man-Of-War.
This one was about 6-7 inches long. They come in with the tide. It does not seem to move much it can lift its body like a walrus. It is hard to tell which is his head or tail.
These dangerous creatures are found on north Padre Island beaches through out the year. These attractive, blue jelly-like organisims cause a painful sting, usually accompanied by redness and some swellingof the affected skin area. If stung seek first aid. a mixture of MSG and vinigar paste is applied which helps draw out the poison and sooths it. a small persentage of of those stung will experimence an allergic reaction, which can cause difficulty breathing numbnessin arms and legs, or elsewhere:sever pain and /or disorientation; or uncomfortableness. call 911. The other day David and Peggy took a drive down the beach with thier friends and they told us there was 1000 of them could not get out of the truck.

We went to the aquariam yesterday and learned about sting rays I will tell you about them later

This is the ship we went on a mini cruise 7 hours actually , it was a gambling cruise cost us
$9.00 for the day and we got a buffet lunch which was beautiful, fantastic service. Of coarse they expected you to go to the casino and loose your money. In Texas they do not allow gambling:therefore the ship had to go out into international waters before they could open the casino. The whole ship except the dinning room was casino. Mac and I sat out on the deck and met people who also did not gamble. I am sure glad it was a warm sunny day. I could not take my knitting as the needles, and scissors were pointed, They are strick just like the airlines. We had a wonderful day. I did walk through the casino it was so smokey and warm in there. In Texas they still smoke in restraunts and public places. They don't want you to loose your money gambling but they kill you with smoke. tee hee.

Today was another day at the beach we drove along it for 20 miles. The first five miles the park people keep the beaches clean. Well the rest of the beach was like a garbage piles, 5 gallon pails, cleaning jugs, beer and pop cans and bottles and all kinds of fishing nets and alot more was garbage scattered every where. We were told it wqashes up on the beaches from all over the world. Whave a clear picture of ships dumping garbage over the side of the ship. It is a disaster . We asked for garbage bags beforedriving down the beach . We brought back 1/2 truck load of garbage, just in a space about fifty feet, were we were parked . We were sea shell hunting and was told it was the best place to go.
We are home now and getting ready to go to a pot luck and the club house.

I just tried to post a picture of the ship , Not doing oit , will keep trying

We have been in Corpus Christi.4 days and have packed alot of scouting. Today we are visiting flea markets. One is very close to us. Mac has started his business of Knife sharpening. The owner told him to post his cards at the club house, post office, and office.

We were beach bums yesterday, the saqnd here is normal grey sand . I got a bit tanned. We drove along the shore for miles, went wading in the gulf of Mexico. It was quite warm. The water is a bit sandy. At Gulf Shores last spring the water was very clear and cooler, the sand was white, it seems very strange because this is all the Gulf of Mexico.from Florida to here.

We walked along a pier and watched the surfers catch the big waves. it made me feel like it would be fun. I am sure I would be spurting and sputting the salt water due to taking breaths at the wrong time. I am too brittle boned to do it.
Our RV lots are very close together but sufficent, all cement and white stones , no grass, or mud. The neighbours are quiet. We have not met them yet we have been busy scouting. One day the novelty will wear off and we will stay put longer.

Peggy my sister have not scouted out wool, material shops as yet, after all we have six months down here, can't do everything in a few days , but we are trying Teeheee.
Our lot backs into bushes behind us so do not have back yard neighbours.

I met our left hand neighbour and he poured his heart out to me. He has had a lot of deaths in his family. I was able to suggest to him to leave it in Gods hands and told him I would pray for him . He was so thankful that I would pray.

I am praying that I will be a strong testimony to others down here.

see ya another day

Hello we are 3 hours from Corpus Christi, wonderful weather all the way. We parked a couple nights at Wally World, Last night there was no RV in the town we decided to stop at. We were without water good thing we had our own bottled drinking water. and a big jug of water for the toilet flush. Only thing no power so no coffee for breakfast. One never knows on these roads what type of filty service station we will stop at to get coffee not so good. So I stick to my bottled water.

We are parked at a beautiful camp site tonight on a hill over looking a large valley of oak trees. Fantastic.

see you tomorrow So long

We are on the road to Texas. We are taking the What you would call the back roads not thre freeways. This takes us through all the wee towns and villages. Lower grade park. But a lot cheaper. We were lucky tonight got wireless and One channel TV.

So you will not always, hear from us depends on the wireless hook up. I like the cheap part only $17.00 per night. Lots of barren country side, very few trees.
Lots of sunflower and corn, and mylo fields; also feed lots . We are thanking God for saftey. Very few cars or trucks. I have done some of the driving even on these narrow two way traffic country roads. see Ya

Just letting all of you know Mac and I will be moving out to Dallas Valley Camp tomorrow Friday Oct.12/2007. Mac is out there right now. Mac will be back in here about about 2PM, to hook on. There is one hook up out there for sewer and water we will be using till Oct 24 . We will leave on 25. Our prayer is that it will not get too terrible cold til we leave.
I am feeling the cold in here today with the wind blowing. I am going to have to pull down the blinds to keep it warmer in here.
Mac and I just completed our last day at the church this morning cleaning windows . This will seem very strange after doing the cleaning there for the past 8 plus years.

Today I am just finishing the small garbage bags for an order, have to fill the side bag with rice and stitch it by hand . I also will cut out netting into 2 inch strips to be rolled into a ball ready to crochet into car scrubbies for this same order. I also want to help Tiffany with her quilt so she can complete it. So much to do in so little time, before we leave; I better get focused and work hard.

Plus I am involved with my quilters group and will make a table runner, or at least learmn how to do it before we leave for the south.
I learned today it will take about 36 hours of driving to get to Corpus Cristi Texas, it is just over 1800. miles.
We will hopefully take our time traveling south.

I have tried 3-4 times to post this blog. I do not know why it won't post?
I took My sewing Machine in to get fixed. I have to wait til next Sat. to pick it up as the repair man is at a conference.
So what can do all week while Mac is at camp til next Friday. I can knit.or crochet, walk . I thought of a better idea. Get onto Gods word. I have asked myself Why do I put God last even with my list I just made out above. Do you know when I squeeze God Out or put him last Life is not so cheerful around me. Oh yes I can put on a face front of happiness in front of others , But am I really happy. To tell the truth No. I am remined and ask myself. Where is the Joy of the Lord in my life. When is the last time I felt it. My frown lines show it. when I smile the frown line disappear, so I know what I have to do.Pray more.
Will you pray with me that God will come first in my life. My challenge this week is start with God, sped more time in his word.Get to know God better. and pray morde
sorry I have not put quuestion marks after each question I asked as my question mark only prints our EEEEE`s. I do not know what has happened. I does not do it any other place on my compute, only when I blog.

I got my sewing machine out this morning to sew on Abby's quilt. The tention is not working so that ended that goal for today. Have to wait till the end of the month to get it fixed. Now what do I do for the rest of the day? Oh yes I could knit dishclothes, crochet scrubbies, or write another children's story or research publishers so I can send away the stories, I already have written. It take more effort to research and bravery to send it away only to be rejected . Who wants to be rejected" NOT ME. well here I go to the rejection line, hoping and praying I will not have too many rejections. I think I will take a nap and think about the decisions I will make . Mac and I arrived home last evening from Rosebud. Travelling tires me out, So today all I did was wash clothes. I still need to put them away , Sure is different to always go to the laundry mat, and expensive I pay about
$12.00 a week to do my laundry. It is $15.00 if I do sheets.
Oh well that is the sacrifices of full time RVing.I did hang a few light weight items on my clothes rack outside to cut cost.
)Iwas inited to go to girls nite out tonight, I have declined as Iam feeling light headed and dizzy, I'll eat supper now to see if it makes me feel better.

Saturday, August 25, 2007

Well am feeling alot better, I am taking Bonamine, you can buy it off the drug store shelf.
We helped with the barbeque at the church yesterday. I am going to vow out of doing these things from now, on as I was so physically exausted I slept 2 hours when I came home, and also slept well all night. I am still feeling the effects of it today. I must get back to more physical workouts to get myself feeling better. I'll start with walking today.I want to invest in some walking sticks so I can get a good workout.
We are leaving tomorrow morning for John and Susans to take over the cedar chest Mac has made for Justin . It sure is beautiful. Mac has put a silhouette of Justin with his surf board on the front of it made from wood. It sure looks like Justin, so neat. We will be back sometime on Wednesday. Mac has to mow the lawn at the church and maybe we will go to seniors camp on the long weekend.

Hi Wanda.
Sorry I mised your call. I did not carry my phone with me as I was at the laundry mat this Morning. This afternoon I took Betty Lindsay out to Dallas Valley Camp for turkey dinner. I then brought her home with me. The phone rand while I was driving but talking on cell phone while driving is a NO NO. I took Betty home and missed my turn, off rink road and ended up going towards Moose Jaw. So I took the turn on to Albert St. Turned right on Victoria.
I am so proud of myself This was all during bumper to bumper high traffic at supper time. I MADE IT AND DID NOT FEEL NERVES AT ALL. It must of stressed me out a litle as when I arrive home I was drained. But felt relaxed while I was driving in it. God is sure good .Getting me ready to drive in heavy traffic this fall.
Going to Doc in the morning because of my dizziness. Mac will be back home tomorrow night sometime.

Tomorrow I will cut out some of those neat bags I have been giving them away. I gave one to Betty as she knits and enbrodiers so that will be handy for her to. I use mine to put thread scraps in when sewing, . My Yarn works great in it as I knit my dish clothes. It keeps the ball of yarn from rolling away.
I want to cut out more strips of netting so I can crochet more scrubbies

I am having problems putting Abbys quilt together so may put that aside and have Peggy Reid help me with it as she is more experienced quilter. I'll try and get it sent back to her as soon as possible . It may not get to her right on her birthday. or Christmas.

I may go have lunch with the church Ladies on Thursday. Then on Friday Mac and I will go to the church to barbeque hot dogs for the kids and their parents to wind up kids camp week.

Yesterday I helped Peggy sew 27 more denim bags for the kids to decorate at club. so I have had a bust week. I wonder what I will be doing next week. So long

Monday, August 20, 2007

Today was a very interesting day. Mac left to work at camp til Wed. afternoon, I decided to get back to writing stories. I was on line writing my story to give to my writers group to critique. Peggy phoned, wanting me to come in with my sewing machine. Twenty seven more denim bags needed to be sewn together. Fifty two kids registered for camp at the church today Praise God for that. It took a litle over an hour to sew them together. Now the kids will string beads on them and decorate their name on the front of them.
I now back writing and editing the story I wrote this morning.
I will now go wash clothes.
Tomorrow I will pick up my friend Betty Lindsay and take her out to Dallas Valley Camp, for a turkey dinner. I bet your all thinking what does a retired person in a fifth wheel do all day.
I am sure you would be bored so my lips are sealed. see ya

Saturday, August 18, 2007

Well I am finally back to knowing how to post on my blog account.
I want to make a few comments on Jens title of Church goers.
I want to challenge all of you to dig into The Bible and find out what does fellowship mean. We as Christians think fellowship means having social activities with Christians. I wonder what God says about that. I vagally know the answer. But this has perked me to get into Gods word and find out what God has to say about it.
If you take a fire and move the fuel away it goes out . That's what happens to Christians when they remove themselves from other Christians. WE AS HUMANS HAVE THE IDEA WE MUST BE INTERTAINED ALL THE TIME EVEN AT CHURCH, OTHERWISE I AM NOT HAPPY. Curling up at home on a Sunday and doing other things you'd rather do finding that more satisfying than being in church. .Satan is at work and has a hold and boy is he happy. You draw away and become cold towards God and his people . One gets turned off on sermons and preachers. . Don't rely on the preacher for your spiritual growth we all should prepare our hearts before attending church to recieve something from God not the preacher he is only an instrument of God like we are . I have to admit when I go, not prepared myself before God and ask him to open my heart and mine to his message, I go with a cold closed heart and mind and sit and become negative towards all things in the service. Satan has it easy with me he has already convinced me it is more easy to remove myself from things Of God like church and his people.
One way I feel closer to the fellowship of a church is to get invloved with a small group Bible study and prayer time.Get to know your Christian friends and they you also you can be a menter to each other. best way is too study Gods word for ourselves as well. Pastor Rob will be talking about small group invloment tommorrow. I am excited to see what God has for me.
I am the way the truth and the life: no man comes to the father but by me " there is only one way to God.
Satan will make you believe that different ways.you will not find different ways quoted in the Bible.
I challenge each one of you to study Gods word and find out what he says about fellowship. relationship, worship. forsake, rightousness, faithfulness, faithful, faithless, faith, abiding in Gods word,
How can I encourage other Christains with Gods words if I do not know God and his word? All other words are empty. thats my feelings but dig and find out for yourselves, I' ll pray that the truth of God will guide you, and satan will not have a hold on any of us.
I have heard it said I can have felloship by myself at home I don't need church. What does God say? let me know maybe we can compare notes. It is more injoyable to study together and share feelings and thoughts with other Christian frinds. It gives us more insight into God .
